About Us
Deep Sea Astronauts is a Sydney based collective of performers, artists, musicians, dancers, comedians, designers, illustrators and educators. We specialise in fun filled interactive performances for adults and children.
We are passionate about spreading joy, connection and a love of nature.
We specialise in activation and engagement for cooperate and community events. Our shows and workshops are made to delight, excite and inspire. Whatever the size or theme of your celebration – we have the creatures to bring it to life.
We are a scalable collective, with members coming in on different projects according to their skills and styles. This means we have a wealth of talent to work with on everything from intimate recordings to large-scale productions – let us know what suits you.
Since forming in 2009 we’ve been seen at theatres, events and festivals all across Australia; from the main stage of the Opera House to the mountainsides in the middle of the desert, from arenas of five thousand people to using a coffee table as a stage in a packed lounge room. From intimate gatherings to massive festivals, we tailor our performances to create fantastical experiences for your audiences – giving them something special to remember for years to come.

What We Do
Sustainability
We are deeply inspired by, and love fostering connection to, our unique Australian environment. We aim to empower people to care for our native animals and environment.
Minimising our environmental impact is very important to us at every level. All of our costumes are built to last, using repurposed and recycled materials as much as possible, and the making produces minimal waste with all scraps repurposed for our creative workshops. We use environmentally friendly products and methods wherever possible on all levels from creation, to transport, to cleaning and maintenance. A % of our income goes towards conservation through The Australian Conservation Foundation and to support the traditional custodians of the land through Aboriginal Legal Services.
We are honoured to donate our services to environmental orginisations including Clean Up Australia Day, Regrowth Festival and Bushcare, and will continue in our efforts to protect our precious native environment.
